You Did Nothing, Monika Ellis

Yesterday, instead of writing a blog, I:

  • Went to the gym: Goddess, downward dog, split, moon, chaturanga, cobra. I did all of that in a packed room with about 50 of my fellow yogis. The temperature is just medium-hot, but enough to make me sweat through all of my clothes. I'm flexible, so my main challenges - breath, alignment and core. I did hang a bit in eagle pose.
  • Watched my boy sell a TV: It's fascinating to see one person's junk become the next person's treasure. I mean he made close to $100 in selling a 60-inch from Person A in Loudoun County to Person B in Montgomery County.
  • Activated my Costco membership: I, a household of one, have the ability to shop wholesale. You see I bought a Groupon. It was $60. The regular Costco membership is also $60. I discovered that when I arrived. So really, through Groupon, I just got some extra coupons to go with my membership. You got me, Costco. You got me. Once I had my card, I wandered around the store to get the lay of the land. You see I was too lazy to get a cart, and I'm too impatient to stand in line, especially at a grocery store on a Sunday. Pirate's Booty, prepackaged chicken salad, dates, chia seeds, face wash, toothbrushes and mouthwash all called to me. Costco is both an angel and the devil. I spent $134, and I'll be back because that chicken salad is delish. And it's made with greek yogurt, not mayo.
  • Discovered Mead: Did ya know honey ferments? I tasted this basil lemongrass dandy while eating dinner at my neighborhood joint - Denizens. I ordered a quinoa salad. I ate his wings and fries. I'll order my own wings and fries next time to avoid the potential side effect of starving a man.
  • Watched Game of Thrones: Ok. I had peaked at some of the crucial scenes thanks to my homie, Twitter. Both the Arya/Brienne sword fight and snippets of the loot train battle were making the rounds due to the HBO hack. Great reunion for the Stark kids. The battle though? That was amazing! My favorite shot was the Dothraki shooting arrows while still riding on horseback. They'd be awesome yogi, and I'd place my mat right behind them to watch the action...closely.

Actual blog coming later this week? Probably.
